The majority of our practice is centred on family law, comprising of domestic matters and child protection matters. We have represented clients in the Ontario Court of Justice and in the Superior Court of Justice. In 2016, Mr. Kapurura was appointed to the Personal Rights Legal Panel with the Office of the Children's Lawyer (OCL). This is a position that requires Mr. Kapurura to provide legal services on behalf of children through the OCL office in areas of custody/access and child protection matters. This is additional experience and exposure that furthers Mr. Kapurura's pursuit of justice in matters affecting families.
If a child has been apprehended or removed from your care and custody by a protection agency (Children's Aid Society- C.A.S.) then we recommend that you contact us as soon as possible to assist you with your matter. We also provide services to individuals affected by child protection proceedings such as step-parents and grandparents.
C.A.S. proceedings can be very emotional and very stressful. Our office will assist you in balancing the interests of the child and addressing the protection concerns, at the same time protecting your legal rights. Always bear in mind that at the end of the day, if there are legitimate protection concerns then steps have to be taken to address those concerns. As the matter progresses, our office will bring necessary court motions to address temporary/interim access and placement issues.
